Who am I and what is Agitate Digital?

I think the rest of this website does a good job of explaining what Agitate is all about. But in short, we are a full-service agency, specialising in web development projects and long term digital strategies. Oh, but we focus all our energy on the Automotive and Marine sectors.

What does that mean? It means that we aren’t working with bakers and candle stick makers… No, we are spending all our time working with brands and businesses such as online accessory retailers, marinas, manufacturing companies, festivals and events. All within the automotive or marine space.

Why are we constraining ourselves like this, and why should you care? Well, as per our process page, research is important. While core marketing skills can transfer to any industry, jumping between industries requires more research. General agencies don’t have the time to learn any industry in depth. Whereas we will always be focused on the same markets so we will hone our skills and know what works and what doesn’t.

Okay, but who am I and why have I started this agency? I’ve been working as the head of marketing for an ‘all sector’ marketing agency for the last 5 years, specialising in working with SME’s. Growing that department and working in that agency I have developed a lot of skills. My two biggest passions are 1) business and 2) my car. A first generation, 1989, Toyota MR2. It’s nearly as simple as combining my passion for car culture and business together, but there is more to it than that. As someone who spends a lot of time at garages, car events and buying vehicle parts… I am very aware that the automotive sector is often very behind in their digital marketing. I have had to navigate some painful websites to try and make purchases over the last few years. So it was clear that there is need for the services I have honed over the last several years.

Okay, but marine? Many businesses manufacturing and selling parts and accessories in the automotive sector are actually covering marine as well so it seemed sensible to broaden the net enough to support these businesses. In my past career I worked with marinas and numerous marine focused businesses as well. Hence the photo on this article. Other than that, what can I say? I’m greedy and after all those years covering every type of business imaginable I want to maintain some variety in my day to day.
